July 20, 2020
Hello fellow Idaho nurse practitioners,
I am writing to let you know what an exciting time it is for Nurse Practitioners of Idaho (NPI). We have had a very accomplished legislative season. Even though it is summer, our legislative committee is continuing to work hard on behalf of all NPs in our great state of Idaho. We are also thrilled with the success of our social media. We have started a mask up Idaho campaign featuring NPs in Idaho. We sincerely invite you to send a picture of you and your NP colleagues wearing masks to further our reach and impact via social media. If you haven't followed us yet, please do now! We are on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Of course, COVID19 has impacted our world in ways we never imagined. However, we are not letting this virus halt our plans for our fall conference. We are proud to announce our fall conference will be on October 17 and will be virtual. We will also host the conference on our website for an undetermined time to allow you freedom in viewing. This year our keynote speaker is Josh Hamilton, with a presentation entitled "Leading with Urgency: Nursing for the 21st Century." We are also excited to feature timely topics like addressing our growing role in managing patients with acute and chronic pain and pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections.
Please know that 1) we will continue to have poster presentations with submissions due September 1. 2) scholarship applications are due August 1, and 3) a call for board nominations is also active. Open seats include president-elect, treasurer, secretary, and region 3,4, and 5 representatives. More information on all of these topics can be found on our website: https://npidaho.enpnetwork.com/
Your NPI executive board continues to work tirelessly on your behalf. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with advocacy ideas, concerns, questions, or anything you deem important. You are here to serve you.
